The Auto Calcimeter is a valuable tool used to obtain “high density” calcite equivalent measurements while drilling to distinguish between CaCO3 and non-calcite (primarily dolomite) content in cuttings. This is information is useful as a correlation tool as well as addressing completion scaling issues.
The AC 4 was designed and tested by Itasca GeoData to comply with ASTM D4373 − 21 and fully integrated with our RigFlex DAQ software.

Petrographic Thin Sections
Itasca GeoData designs and builds our precision thin section equipment to provide quality thin sections with a very fast turn around time in as little as 5 days. We specialize in the preparation of drill cuttings thin sections that present the best overall sample characteristics such as bedding, pore space, cement and mineral content. Each sample is vacuum and pressure impregnated with epoxy and may be treated with a variety of stains and dyes to enhance small pore space observations as well as carbonate mineral content.
